Summer 2014 - Seed mural art with young women at the Bernalillo Youth Detention Center. This experience was transforming and a lot of leaning took place for all! The staff at the detention center rocked!!! They helped and had a great time doing it! The kids at The Orchard Summer Camp in the South Valley of Albuquerque also participated in a couple of the sections. Everyone did such a wonderful job on this piece. 35 Participants in 5 sessions to complete this 12' X 8 piece.
Mural seeded by the community of New Mexico at various public events & schools. This mural was created to educate participants about seeds in India. The peacock is the national bird of india and most of the seeds used in this mural are use in Indian cuisine. The design is based on Indian gond art. . It took 16 months to complete this mural. Designed by Jade Leyva with the assistance of Noel Chilton

Community Arts and Education...
Seed Preservationis and Bee Keeper Isaura Andaluz from Cuatro Puertas has been part of the Community Seed Mural Project from the beginning, sharing her extense knowledge about seeds, bees and how to take care of them and their connection to a healthy future.
Bee Keeper Jessie Brown from Brown's Downtown Bees joined us at the University of New Mexico to speak abot all things bees including organic care for their preservation.
Handed out to participants with educational materials about how to help bee preservation.

ACCESS (Arts, Community, Culture, Education, Sports & Science). Had a total blast with ACCESS group in the south valley of Albuquerque!!! This piece was designed by some of this beautiful kids and everyone enjoyed placing seeds on it. We thank Fernando Ortega for his invitation to work with this amazing group. Spring 2015.
